The youth of the 21 century

What in the world is happening to our youth today? I'm asking this question since I myself am part of this generation's youth, and I know that our parents are asking themselves the very same question. Most of our parents are thinking that the outside life influences play a major role in the youth's lives. While that is an indisputable fact, unfortunately our parents aren't capable of changing things, especially in this day and age. What they can do is to pray to God's intervention. Looking at this fact everywhere in the world is this outcry about the youth.

Most parents think that the new generation is running their lives while their sitting dumbfounded and helpless. While they are roaming the boat straight into the rocks. In the side of the youth we need competent and disciplined leaders to change our ways of good for nothing, to the pathway of attaining success.

When our parents talk to us, we ignore them and I heard parents complain a lot about this. They get the same response from other grown-ups. They end up feeling quite depressed because of the negative attitude their children gives them. We, as the youth don't care about the advice we get from our parents and we feel that we're self-sufficient.

Our parents are definitely not going to give up. They're going to fight the evil that had befallen the youth. I declare war on the youth's ignorance. We need the good programmes on television with advice from people who know what life is all about. The question is "how will the youth respond?" Untouched. Unimproved. Unimpressed. Or maybe, the opposite.

The other questions are: "Hadn't our parents warn us about the outside influences?" They certainly had. "Hadn't our parents told us that perseverance is the mother of success?" "Hadn't they dedicate their whole life to us?" While these questions and answers are in our heads, they may encourage us to change from the ways of evil to the ways of good.

Last but not least, who will run the world in the future if the youth is not equipped and well prepared for it? We are condemning our elders' actions. Then what happens next? We resort to drugs, liquor and adultery. What about the future? We normally say that Christ is coming soon and maybe that's why there are such changes.

Do we for one moment think that Christ himself would be proud to find humanity in such a state? What will he think about us? Will he say that we're influenced by the changing of time and we should come to heaven because he understands.
